Signal too low. Intermittent fault
Checking the wiring
- Ignition off
- Check control module connector C and the potentiometer connector. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground See Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. See Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Connect an ohmmeter between control module C14 and ground.
Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground. See Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Connect an ohmmeter between control module C15 and ground.
Take the same reading as above.
Connect an ohmmeter between control module C16 and ground.
Take the same reading as above.
Connect an ohmmeter between control module C14 and potentiometer 1.

Check for an intermittent open-circuit. See Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults
Connect an ohmmeter between control module C16 and potentiometer 3.
Take the same reading as above.
If no faults are found, try a new potentiometer.
Remedy as necessary.
