Brake Pedal and Brake Light Switches
Brake pedal and brake light switches
The brake light switch is located by the brake pedal. It is controlled by the brake pedal lever arm and switches the car's brake light on when the driver brakes. It also sends a signal to the control module telling it that braking has started. The brake light switch is self-adjusting and does not therefore require any manual adjustment of the distance from the brake pedal lever arm.
The brake light switch also includes the switch for the automatic gearbox P shift-lock.
The brake pedal and bracket come in one of two designs, depending on whether the car is LH or RH drive.
