Parking Heater 091B/D With ARDIC ISO Tester
Parking heater 091B/D with ARDIC ISO TESTER
Connecting and starting the test instrument
The instrument must be connected between the heater control module and its wiring. This is carried out as follows:
- Switch off the ignition.
- Expose the control module.
- Disconnect the control module connector.
- Connect the instrument adapter to the control module.
- Connect the wiring connector to the adapter.
- Start the heater using the timer or the Autostart button (depending on the option available).
- Leave the heater switched on.
The test instrument is powered up when the text "ARDIC ISO TESTER" is displayed in the display window.
Note! If the heater does not start correctly as a result of a fault, the test instrument will still be able to communicate with the control module if the heater has initiated a start. Therefore the heater should be left "started" while taking readings.
Reading and erasing diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
The control module can store 10 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) simultaneously. They are stored using the "first in, first out" principle.
When reading off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), the instrument displays the last stored diagnostic trouble code (DTC) first , then the second last etc.
The following is displayed in the display window (see illustration):
Reading off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
Press the START button. This initiates diagnostic trouble code (DTC) reading off and takes approximately 3 seconds. During this time the control module P/N and instrument ID will be displayed. For information about the P/N and instrument ID see the section below.
The test instrument scrolls through the DTCs one after the other. If no diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored the code " 00 NO ERRORS".
Press the STEP button to scroll to other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
In the event of communication problems the following text will be displayed "COM PROBLEM" and "TRY AGAIN". Try to read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) again. If this is still not successful, check:
- that the test instrument is fault free and that it is properly connected
- that the heater has started or tried to start
- the power supply and ground to the heater control module is OK
Erasing diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
Press the START and STEP buttons at the same time. After 3 seconds the text "RELEASE BUTTONS" is displayed in the display windows. Then release the buttons. "ECU MEMORY CLEARED" will now displayed.
When the text "TO LOAD CODES" is displayed, the instrument can read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) again as above.
DTC table
General abbreviations in display:
"O-C", Open Circuit.
"S-C", Short Circuit.
P/N
The P/N displayed by the test instrument can be connected to the ARDICS with the P/N shown in the table. The ARDICS P/N can also be found on the control module marking.
Instrument ID
The instrument ID consists of an 8- figure number, for example 96060079. The first four figures represent the year and month . The last four digits are a serial number from 0000 and upwards.
