Spring Strut
Spring strut
The spring strut (6) consists of a tube, the lower end of which is fixed with a screwed joint (8). The ball joint (10) is secured in the lower part of the stub axle. The lower spring strut seat (5) is welded to the upper part of the tube. The shock absorber (2) is located in the tube and is held in place by a screw in the upper end and a seat in the bottom of the tube.
The shock absorber piston rod is guided by the upper bearing (1). The upper bearing is secured in the wheel arch. The bearing consists of a bearing pressed into a plate sleeve which is vulcanized with rubber.
The upper bearing supports the spring via the upper spring seat on the underside of which there is a bump stop and a protective socket (3) for the shock absorber piston rod.
