Lift mechanism motor and cable for side window Convertible, replacement

Removal

Removing lift mechanism motor with cable




Remove rear power window lift mechanism cassette. Components front side door, replacing Removal and Replacement.
Lay the power window lift mechanism cassette on the workbench.

Note! Protect the glass when working on the workbench.

Remove:
- the screw for the cable tensioner.
- the cables from the cable tensioner.
- the slide rail.
Turn the power window lift mechanism cassette.

Remove:
- the screws for the power window lift unit.
- the cables from the cable drum.
Replacing the power window lift motor / cable.

Installation

Installing the power lift mechanism motor with cable




Work on the power window lift mechanism cassette is carried out on a workbench.
Hold the power window lift motor unit approximately a quarter turn up from fixed position.
Install the control cables on the cable drum.
1/2 a turn winding on the outer cable and 3 1/2 turns for the inner cable.
Move the lift motor unit down towards the cassette.




Install the cables in the cable tensioner.
Route the cables around the cable pulley.

Hint: The second cable is more easily inserted if the lift motor unit is twisted when the first cable is secure in the cable tensioner.

Turn the lift motor unit to the correct position.

Install:
- the screws for the power window lift unit.
- the slide rail.
Check that the cables move correctly.
Install the power window lift mechanism cassette. Components front side door, replacing Removal and Replacement.
