Door Window/Winder Mechanism

Door window/winder mechanism

Design

Window unit
The window unit is a assembly in which the upper member (1) comprises the unit frame. The member, which improves the torsional rigidity of the door and is part of the side impact protection, is mounted in the door by means of 6 bolts. The lower mounting consists of two adjustable studs (2).
The window (3), which is removable, is held in position by two mountings secured by through bolts.
The winder mechanism consists of an electric motor (4) mounted on the door panel. Two cables (5) pass through the motor and are secured to the window mounting plates (6). The cable is secured by means of a lock plate (7) on the front mounting and is seated in a fixed position (8) in the rear mounting. The cables run around the frame on four pulleys (9).
Correct installation of the window unit in the door is essential.
- Insert the unit in the door without tightening the bolts.
- Close the door and check the fit with the body.
- The bolts may be tightened if the rear edge of the door fits correctly in the body. If not, turn the door carefully to adjust the fit.
