Overview
Seat belts
All four seat positions are equipped with three-point seat belts.
The front-seat belts are equipped with the same type of pyrotechnical pretensioners as the S90/V90. The lower attachment is of the 'trombone' type. The belt runs on a steel rail, the rear end of which is bolted to the body, while the front end is free to move in a lug attached to the seat. This arrangement ensures that the belt moves with the seat at all times although still attached to the body, and affords better belt geometry.
The rear seat belts are of a unique design. The belt reels are mounted in the centre of the heavily reinforced parcel shelf, with the belt locks at the outer edges of the rear seat.
Cars for the USA and Canada are equipped with a type of belt which can be used to secure a child seat (and for securing cargo).
SRS (airbag)
A driver's airbag is standard equipment.
A passenger airbag is standard or optional depending on the market.
Front seat side airbags (SIPS bags) are standard.
