Handling non-deployed airbag modules/pyrotechnic seat-belt tensioners

Non deployed airbag modules/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners must not be deployed either in place in the car or when removed.
Removal must be carried out in accordance with

- Steering wheel module, steering wheel and contact reel, replacement Airbag Steering Wheel Module, Steering Wheel and Contact Reel Replacement.
- Steering wheel module, replacement Steering Wheel Module, Replacement.
- Adjusting steering wheel position Adjustments.

Warning! Airbag modules/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners must never be taken apart, repaired or transferred to another vehicle.





Warning! Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non deployed airbag/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner. This could deploy the airbag/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner.

Replaced airbag modules/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners should be returned to Volvo in accordance with current procedures.

Storage and transport




When storing or transporting airbag modules/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners, they should be handled in accordance with national statutory regulations.
