Procedure During Service Work

Procedure during service work

Warning! When servicing the affected front seat. Always secure the SIPS bag in the affected front seat. Use the transport lock, which can be found on the inside of the seat compartment on the SIPS seat. Never use physical force on the side of the seat.

Transport lock, part no. 9156562-2

The transport lock must always be fitted to the sensor unit on delivery and when handling the SIPS bag unit or complete front seat with a prefitted SIPS bag.
When the transport lock is placed over the sensor and with that securing the SIPS bag, the seat compartment can be positioned. The size of the transport lock is deliberately designed to prevent the seat compartment from being fitted to ensure that the transport lock is not forgotten on the sensor.

Secure the SIPS bag

Before service work is started:
First secure SIPS bag using the transport lock, as follows:
- Fold up the seat compartment. Lift up the front edge and press the compartment backward.
- Remove the transport lock from the holder on the inside of the seat compartment. (Fitted on all SIPS seats.)
- Install the transport lock on the sensor unit.

Unlock the SIPS bag

When the service has been completed
Do not forget to unlock the SIPS bag!
- Remove the transport lock on the sensor unit.
- Fit the transport lock from the holder on the inside of the seat compartment.
- Install the seat compartment.
