Replacing WHIPS

Preparations

Remove:

- the seat from the car. See Lifting the mechanical seat in and out Lifting Mechanical Seat In & Out
- the lumbar support knob. See Lumbar support adjustment knob
- the backrest adjustment knob. See Backrest adjustment knob

Replacing WHIPS






If indicator B is not intact:
Screw the backrest adjustment as far forwards as possible.
Release folding mechanism A. Fold the backrest forward.
Disconnect spring C.

Remove:






- the indicator pin or its remains
- one nut on each side.






- one shaft / screw on each side
- sliding washer.

Use a screwdriver to lift apart the mounting at C in order to angle out segment B.






Remove the segment: Twist it and angle it out.

Note! The segment can only be removed when it is in one particular position.
Replace the segment.

Install:

In reverse order.

Note! The nut must be tightened. Tighten to 17 Nm ±1
Note! The sliding washer must be positioned correctly.

Check that the indicator pin is intact and is correctly positioned after installation
