Condition

- No DTCs.
- Fault is permanent.

Possible source

- Faulty light bulb in dashboard.
- Faulty dashboard.

Fault-tracing starts with CCB. Checking that brake circuit warning indicator comes on with ignition on.

- Ignition off.
- Start engine.
- Rev engine up once.

Check that charging light comes on when ignition is set to on and that it goes out when generator starts charging.

If reading is OK: Refer to: Checking circuit to brake fluid level sensor
If reading is incorrect:

Verification

Hint: After repair, it is necessary to check that the fault has been corrected.






Perform as follows:

- Ignition off.
- Reconnect connectors, components etc.
- Start engine.
- Rev engine up once.

Check that charging light comes on when ignition is set to on and that it goes out when generator starts charging.

If reading is OK: Fault corrected
If reading is incorrect:

Checking warning indicator









- Ignition off.
- Disconnect brake fluid level sensor.
- Connect a temporary lead between brake fluid level sensor connector terminals 1 and 2.
- Start engine.
- Speed engine up once.
- Brake circuit warning indicator should come on.
- Ignition off.
- Remove temporary lead.

Does brake circuit warning indicator come on?

Yes: Test with new combined instrument.
No: Check that the warning indicator in the combined instrument are working.

Replacement of component

Replace light bulb in combined instrument.

Then continue with: Fault corrected
