Inner door opener, draft
Background:
On some vehicles a draft may be felt from and around the inner door opener when the sunroof is in the ventilation position. This Service Bulletin describes how to prevent draught from opener handle.

Removing the door panel 1
Remove the door panel as described in Front and rear doors in VADIS or the procedure in the service manual:
Section 8 (82-86, 88) Fittings, exterior S70/V70 1997 chapter BA.
Sealing the inner door opener 2
Loosen the inner door opener.
Seal the holes at the cable fixture using butyl tape (part number 1321227-9), see figure.
Tighten the door opener.
Sealing gaps at window lift cartridge and door opener 3
Seal with butyl tape:
around all of the door opener between the window lift cartridge and cover.
Sealing behind speaker 4
Removing the speaker
Remove the loudspeaker.
Cleaning the loudspeaker opening. 5
Clean the surface around the speaker opening using H Cleaner (part number 1161436).
Installing plastic over loudspeaker opening 6
Cut out a piece of plastic (part number 1150360) with a diameter of 180 mm (7 inch).
Put the plastic over the loudspeaker opening.
Push the plastic to the bottom of the loudspeaker (1). This is easier to do if you use a roll of tape or some other cylindrical object to push the plastic in, see figure.
Fix the plastic around the speaker opening using tape (part number 277063-4) to seal it completely (2).
Installing the loudspeaker 7
Install the loudspeaker.
Sealing around lock button 8
Seal the gap between the internal weatherlist and door arch using butyl tape (1).
Sealing the window lift control panel 9
Seal the gap between the door panel and control panel on the underside using butyl tape.
Check that there is no butyl tape in the sockets. Install the door panels.
Do a function check of:
- window lift
- door opener
- electric rear-view mirrors
- speakers.
