2-4-2 TURBOCHARGER CONTROL VALVE SIGNALCondition
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EFI-242 is stored it there is a short-circuit to ground/voltage or an open-circuit in the Turbocharger (TC) Control Valve circuit.
Substitute Value
- Idle air trim disabled
- Fuel trim disabled
- Conditions for fuel shut-off changed.
Possible Source
Signal too High:
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in signal cable
- Defective turbocharger (TC) control valve.
Signal too Low:
- Short-circuit to ground in signal cable
- Defective turbocharger (TC) control valve.
Signal Missing:
- Open-circuit in signal or power cable
- Contact resistance in terminals
- Defective turbocharger (TC) control valve.
Fault Symptom(s)
- Improved or impaired performance due to excessively high or excessively low boost pressure.

Caution! In order to obtain the correct status message, it may be necessary to floor the accelerator pedal twice before reading off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
