4-4-7 PULSED SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM SOLENOID VALVE, SIGNAL





Trouble Code Conditions
- Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EFI-447 Pulsed secondary air injection system (PAIR) solenoid valve signal will be posted 5 seconds after the engine is started if there is a short-circuit to ground/voltage in the solenoid valve signal cable or an open-circuit in the circuit.

Substitute value(s)
- Pulsed secondary air injection system diagnostic disabled.
- Front and rear heated oxygen sensor diagnostic disabled.
- Fuel trim disabled.

Possible source(s)
Signal too high:
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in signal cable.
- Defective pulsed secondary air injection system solenoid valve.

Signal too low:
- Short-circuit to ground in signal cable.

Signal missing:
- Open-circuit in signal or power cable.
- Contact resistance in terminals.
- Defective pulsed secondary air injection system solenoid valve.

Fault symptom(s)
- A muffled sucking sound can be heard from the engine compartment when the engine is idling.

- Refer to: Signal Too Low. Permanent Fault.

Alternative 3:
- Refer to: Signal Missing. Permanent Fault.

- Refer to: Signal Too High. Intermittent Fault.

Alternative 5:
- Refer to: Signal Too Low. Intermittent Fault.

Alternative 6:
- Refer to: Signal Missing. Intermittent Fault.
