The steering system is servo operated. The main components are the steering gear and the power steering pump.

The steering gear is of the rack and pinion type and grease lubricated.

The power steering pump is of the vane type and belt driven from the engine crankshaft.

The fluid reservoir is integrated into the pump.

The steering system layout is displayed in the illustration above.

Steering wheel movement is transferred to the wheels via the steering column (1), steering gear (2), tie rods (3) and steering arms (4).

There are steering limiters on each side near the wheels.

These give the possibility of maximum lock that means in turn that the turning circle is only 10.4 meters.

The steering wheel turns 3.2 turns lock to lock.
