Door Locks: Service and Repair
BA6. Door Panel
Remove:
1 Torx 20 screw.
panel trim around door handle.
door mirror panel.
Remove 7 clips on the bottom of the door.
BA7. Door Panel
Press the window lift mechanism control panel up by hand from the inside.
Disconnect connectors.
Replacing Driver's Side Panel
The spare panel does not have a cut-out for the power mirror control. Only a stamped section on the reverse of the panel. Carry out the following:
Cut along the perforation in the card on the reverse of the panel with a small knife.
CAUTION! Do not cut through the fabric.
Press out the piece of card from the front
Cut away the fabric on the front.
BA9. Handle And Lock Unit
2 Torx 30 handle screws (A).
2 Torx 30 lock unit screws (B).
BA10. Lock Unit
CAUTION! When installing the lock unit it is important that the opening cable is on the correct side of lug (A) so that it does not catch on the lock button.
Front Door Lock Unit
Remove:
2 inner door opener screws.
2 connectors.
Lock cable from lock as illustrated.
Remove lock unit.
Rear door
Unhook opening cable from lock unit.
Remove lock unit by bending out the guide rail and pulling the lock unit downwards.
BA11. Lock Buttons
The lock buttons have markings that should be away from the lock unit.
Front door 2 marks (A).
Rear door 1 mark (B).
