Motronic 4.3/4.4 Function Diagram









Speed setting.
Switch in the ON position.

SET button depressed for less than 0.5 seconds. Speed above 35 km/h (20 mph) and brake pedal not depressed.

Retaining speed.
Switch in the ON position. Speed above 35 km/h (20 mph) and brake pedal not depressed.







Increasing the set speed.
Switch in the ON position.

Cruise control controls the throttle.

If the SET button is depressed for more than 0.5 seconds the speed will slowly increase until the SET button is released.

If the SET button is depressed for less than 0.5 seconds the speed increases by less than 1.6 km/h (1 mph).







Reducing speed.
Switch in the ON position.

Cruise control controls speed reduction.

If the SET button is held depressed for more than 0.5 seconds the speed will sink slowly until the SET button is released.

If the SET button is held depressed for more than 0.5 seconds the speed reduces to less than 1.6 km/h (1 mph).







Braking.
Switch in the ON position.

Brake pedal pressed down.

The brake valve breaks the voltage to terminal T:9 and the stop (brake) lamp switch closes and passes battery voltage to terminal S:6. This disconnects the cruise control.







Resuming the set speed.
Switch in RESUME position.

The car will resume the speed previously set.
