EE. EBD Switch, Replacement
PreparationsNOTE:
Depress brake pedal and hold it down or lock it in that position while the EBD switch is replaced.
Clean around EBD switch connection to master cylinder.
Put rags under the EBD switch to protect painted surfaces against brake fluid spillage.
Removing
Remove EBD switch.
Installing
Make sure there is an O-ring installed on the new EBD switch.
- Install the new EBD switch finger tight.
- Turn EBD switch no more than one-half turn counterclockwise. (Open one-half turn)
- Press the brake pedal down half way and hold it there.
- Tighten switch and torque to 15 Nm (10 ft.lbs.)
- Release brake pedal.
- Wipe off any brake fluid spillage.
Finishing
Check that there are no leaks.
Clean up any brake fluid spillage with lukewarm water and car-wash shampoo.
Finishing work
Reinstall removed components, including air filter housing, and hose to air heater.
Install battery.
Reconnect the battery terminals.
Tighten the ground wire to the stud on the negative battery terminal with the 10mm nut, 6 Nm (5 ft.lbs.)
Program radio code.
