Headlight bulb, replacement

Background

When replacing the low beam bulbs in the headlight, carry out the operation on both the right and left hand sides. When replacing the headlight bulbs, an adapter cable with built-in resistance must be installed between the existing cable and the headlight to increase the service life of low beam bulb.

Replacing low beam headlight bulb (A) 1

Turn the plastic cover counterclockwise and remove it.





Press the wire catches on the retaining clamp (1 in inset illustration) together and push out (2) to release the bulb and connector from the headlight housing.

Pull the bulb out of the connector.

Insest a new bulb into the connector.

Re-insert the bulb and connector into the headlight housing. The guide lug must be up to ensure proper positioning.

Press the retaining clamp back into position.

Reinstall the plastic cover.

Disconnect the connector (1) for the headlamps.

Install the adapter cable (2) between the disconnected cable and the headlight.

Install a tie strap (3), see steps 3 and 4 for location, around the existing cable harness and the adapter cable.

Check that the cables and connectors do not rattle or rub against any surfaces.

Test the function.
