Activating Components / Functions

ACTIVATING COMPONENTS OR FUNCTIONS

^ Ignition OFF.

^ Install memory cassette.





^ Connect the Volvo Scan Tool (ST) cabling to the Data Link Connector (DLC) in front of the gear selector.

^ Ignition ON.

^ The engine MUST NOT be running, RPM = 0

^ Power up the Volvo Scan Tool (ST).

^ Select language, car, group of functions.

^ Select applicable engine management system.

^ Select DIAGNOSTIC TEST.

^ Select ACTIVATE COMPONENTS / FUNCTIONS.

^ Components and functions can now be activated individually with this function.

^ Select the desired component or function by number, see Component Activation Charts.

^ Activate the Component / Function by pressing the YES / NO button to start and stop activation.

The following components can be activated:

-- Pulsed Secondary Air Injection System (PAIR) Pump
-- Solenoid, Pulsed Secondary Air Injection System (PAIR)
-- Fuel pump
-- EVAP-valve
-- EVAP canister shut-off valve (USA/CDN Only)
-- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), heating
-- Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), heating
-- Engine Cooling Fan (FC) low-speed
-- Engine Cooling Fan (FC) high-speed
-- Injector 1
-- Injector 2
-- Injector 3
-- Injector 4
-- Injector 5
-- Idle air control valve
-- A/C-relay
-- Engine speed signal to the combined instrument panel
-- Engine temperature signal to the combined instrument panel
-- Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
-- Load signal to Transmission Control Module (TCM).
-- Turbo Control Valve
