Replacing heater control switch
Models with low equipment level specification
Remove the switches for A/C, rear demist, and recirculation
- Remove the knobs from the heater control; insert a small screwdriver at the rear edge of control.
- Remove the cover panel (insert fingers in the opening and pull carefully).
- Carefully remove the printed circuit board at the far back of the panel (first A, then B).
- The printed circuit board must be replaced as a unit.
Install in reverse order.
Replacing the blower fan switch
- Remove the knobs from the heater control; insert a small screwdriver at the rear edge of the control.
- Remove the cover panel (insert fingers in the opening and pull carefully).
- Remove the four torx mounting screws.
- Remove the rear section of the bracket. Press carefully at the edge with a screwdriver.
Note! The radio must be pulled forward a few centimeters before the rear section of the bracket can be removed.
- Remove the screw behind the rear section of the bracket. Pull the bracket forward slightly.
- Disconnect the connectors from the switches.
Note! Do not disconnect the radio connectors!
- Lean the heater controls forwards.
- Remove the extension piece from the switch pins.
- Press in the four retaining clips. Remove the switch backwards.
Install in reverse order.
Versions with ECC
Remove ECC
If the switch is defective the whole control panel must be replaced.
- Remove the panel by carefully inserting a weatherstrip tool along the edge and pull the panel forwards.
The knobs remain in position.
- Remove the four torx mounting screws
- Remove the rear section of the bracket. Press carefully at the edge with a screwdriver.
Note! The radio must be pulled forward a few centimeters before the rear section of the bracket can be removed.
- Remove the screw behind the rear section of the bracket. Pull the bracket forward slightly.
- Disconnect the connectors from the switches and the radio. Remove the bracket.
- Lean the control panel (unit) downwards and disconnect the connector and hose.
- Remove the unit.
Install in reverse order.
