Disconnecting connector
Separate the connector. If the connector breaks, replace the connector.
Before disassembling, check the position of cables in the connector. It is important that the cables are installed in the correct positions when the work has been carried out.
Note! If cables are connected incorrectly the signal to the airbag or tensioner may be weakened and the SRS function may be degraded or disabled. There is a risk of personal injury if the incorrect procedure or tool is used.
Open the lock on the male section of the terminal. Use a small screwdriver. Insert the small screwdriver in short side / reverse of the switch and lift up / break the catch carefully.
Open the lock for the terminal on the female section. Use two small screwdrivers. Insert the screwdrivers on each side of the connector. Lift up / break the lock carefully in two stages until the sleeve has released.
Press in the terminal pin spring / catch while pulling the pin out at the same time. This is because there are two stages in the connector.
Installing connector
When reinstalling the terminal pin in the connector, bend the lock up slightly, so that when the pin is inserted it locks properly.
If the pins are damaged and need to be replaced, the cable must not be cut. The pins must be removed without shortening the wiring.
Open the clamp joint without damaging the strands of the cable. Use a small screwdriver or pliers.
Install the new cable terminal pins on the cables. Use the crimping tool.
