Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

IMM-312 Communication link to the engine control module (ECM)

Condition




During the first two seconds the ignition is switched the immobilizer control module checks if the communication link between the immobilizer and engine control module are short-circuited to ground. If a fault is found diagnostic trouble code (DTC) IMM-312 is stored.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is erased when the counter value reaches 254.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the communication link between immobilizer control module #4 (cars with engine control module (ECM) Denso, ME 7 and MSA15.7/15.8) or #2 (cars with engine control module (ECM) Fenix 5.2) and engine control module at start.

Fault symptom[s]
- Engine starts but stops immediately.
