Safety equipment

1. Steering wheel module




The steering wheel module is unlocked in two stages.
When working on the steering wheel, steering shaft or steering gear, certain operations must be carried out according to the methods for working on the steering wheel module.

2. Passenger module




The passenger airbag module is unlocked in two stages.

3a - c SIPS module (Side Impact Protection System)




3a. There are side airbags in both the front seats.
3b. The sensors are located in the B and C-posts.
3c. The sensors are located in the B posts.










4a - e Seat belts and seat belt tensioners





Note! The following models have pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners: 850 1994 - S/V 70 Front S/V 40 Front

All seat belts are equipped with pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners.


















5a. IC, Inflatable Curtain




The curtain consists of two inflatable protective curtains located in the edges of the roof on each side of the car.
The curtain shields the upper section of the car interior, from the A to the C-posts.






6. WHIPS (Whiplash Protection System)





Applies to all car models from 1999- inclusive
The front seats have the WHIPS function. The aim of WHIPS is to minimize the risk of whiplash injuries in the event of a collision.
The system is completely mechanical and is integrated into the seats.

7. SRS control module





Note! Never install car accessories on or near the SRS control module.

The SRS control module is located between the parking brake and the gear selector lever in the center console.

8a - b ROPS module (Roll Over Protection System)




ROPS is a mechanical safety system where two roll-over bars deploy automatically if the car rolls over. These are located behind the rear head restraints.





Other

Cables
SRS wiring is orange. When working on SRS wiring, extra care must be taken to avoid damage to the following areas:
- soundproofing panels
- the glove compartment
- the dashboard
- steering shaft covers
- the ignition switch
- sill trim panels
- A, B and C-posts
- the roof
- the parcel shelf.

Sensors
The collision sensors for the SRS system (4+1) are located in the B-posts, C-posts and in the SRS control module.
The collision sensors control the SRS system.

Note! Never install car accessories on or beside the sensors.

Safety decals must always be in the car at the relevant points.
