Signal Too Low

Signal too low

Checking damper motor control

- Engine running
- Blower fan on.
Activate the button for air distribution.
Check that the air flow changes.

Does the air flow change?

Yes - Checking the wiring

No - Checking the circuit

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the circuit

- Ignition off
- Disconnect connector B on the climate control module (CCM).
Check connector B on the climate control module (CCM) and the damper motor connector. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for damage carefully.
Check the signal cable between the climate control module (CCM) and the damper motor. Check for an open-circuit by measuring the resistance between terminals #B22 (#21) and #B11-#B14 (#11-#14).

Other information:
- To access or replace the control module, see Climate control module (CCM), replacing Service and Repair
- To access or replace the damper motor, see Damper motor temperature, replacing Service and Repair

Was a fault detected?

Yes - Checking the cable

No - Checking the cable

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the cable

- Ignition off
- Disconnect connector B on the climate control module (CCM)
- Disconnect the connector on the air distribution damper motor.
Check the signal cable. Check control module connector terminal #B22 (#22) and damper motor connector terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the wiring on the matrix network between air distribution damper motor terminals #3-#6 and climate control module (CCM) terminals #B11-#B14 (#11-#14). Check for an open-circuit.
Remedy as necessary.

Query
Select which type of climate control the car is equipped with.
1. Electronic climate control
2. Manual climate control (MCC) / Standard (STD).

Select an alternative.

1 - Self-adjustment 1

2 - Self-adjustment 2

-------------------------------------------------

Self-adjustment 1

Hint: After replacing the control module or damper motor, and when a damper motor or link has been removed, carry out self adjustment to define the damper motor limit positions.

- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Activate self adjustment.

Verification

Hint: After the repair it is necessary to check that the fault has been rectified.

- Ignition off.
- Connect the connectors, install the components, etc.
- Ignition on.
- Blower motor on.
Check that damper motor position changes by changing control on climate control module (CCM). The values given below are the standard values that the damper motor positions should give.

Note! Blower motor must be in operation to activate the damper motors.

- Left/right temperature damper motor and defroster, 0-100%
- Recirculation damper motor, 40-100%
- Floor/ventilation damper motor, floor only approximately 39%, ventilation only approximately 87% and floor/ventilation approximately 71%.
