Signal too low. Permanent fault

Checking the signal cable




- Ignition off
- Disconnect the 20-pin connector (group A) from the central electronic module (CEM)
- Disconnect the 1-pin connector from the generator (GEN) (1B).
Check the signal cable between the central electronic module (CEM) terminal #5A and generator (GEN) terminal #1B (the red / white cable with flat pin). Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After the repair it is necessary to check that the fault has been rectified.








- Ignition off.
- Connect connectors, install components, etc.
- Start the engine.
Check that diagnostic trouble code status changes from permanent to intermittent.
