Timing Components: Specifications
Tighten the center screw for the variable valve timing (VVT) unit 120 Nm
The center plug. Tighten 35 Nm
Tighten the center screw on the timing belt tensioner 5 Nm
Tighten the three screws securing the timing gear pulley for the exhaust camshaft to the variable valve timing unit 10 Nm
Install the third screw at the timing gear pulley for the intake camshaft Tighten the screws 20 Nm
Hold the eccentric secure and tighten the center screw. Tighten 20 Nm
Spin the idler pulley and listen for noise. If replacing with a new idler pulley, tighten 24 Nm
The plug with a new blind cover plug. Tighten 40 Nm
The Vibration Damper
Tighten the center nut 180 Nm
Install the new belt in the following order:
- crankshaft
- the idler pulley
- intake camshaft pulley
- exhaust camshaft pulley
- water pump
- belt tensioner.
Tighten the four screws 25 Nm
Angle-tighten 30 degrees
Use the crankshaft center screw as a counterhold.
Remove the counterhold and install new screws.
Tighten the screws 25 Nm
Angle-tighten 30 degrees
The front timing belt cover. Tighten 12 Nm
The engine stabilizer brace
Tighten the screws at the suspension turrets 50 Nm
Tighten the engine bracket screw 80 Nm
Center screw for the timing belt 25 Nm
Timing gear pulley
(camshafts without variable valve timing) 20 Nm
Timing gear pulley (camshafts with variable valve timing) 10 Nm
Timing cover, (front/rear) 12 Nm
Timing cover, (upper) 8 Nm
Spin the idler pulley and listen for noise.
If replacing with a new idler pulley, tighten 24 Nm
