Hint: The fault may be due to incorrect or damaged software in the transmission control module (TCM). The fault can be remedied by downloading new software.

Cancel fault-tracing.
Download the latest software into the transmission control module (TCM). Then resume the fault tracing. See the "Technical journal" for information about the most recent software.

Note! After carrying out the repair check that the symptom has been remedied.Check the automatic transmission as follows:

- Test drive the car to test the function of the automatic transmission. See Test drive schedule, description, B5244T5, AW55-50/51SN, B5254T2, AW55-50/51SN, B5254T2, AW50/51 AWD Test Drive Schedule, Description
- If hydraulic hoses, gaskets or other components have been replaced, check that there is no oil leakage after the test drive.
