Note! During installation the underlying surface must be kept at a temperature of at least +15˚C (59˚F).Do not wash the car within 48 hours after installation is completed.Allow the car to remain inside for at least two hours after installation is completed if outside temperature is less than +15˚C (59˚F).Steps 3-12 and 15-18 apply to cars without RTI, CD changer, Digital Jukebox or SAT preparation in which the DIN cable must then be routed from the radio to the Sirius control module.

Preparations

- Move the left-hand front seat to its rear position.




- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.
- On cars with manual gearbox: Remove the ignition key.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.

Note! Wait at least five minutes before disassembling the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.





Steps 3-12 apply to cars without RTI, CD changer, Digital Jukebox or SAT preparation.
- Detach the gear selector lever's cover panel with gaiter by carefully prizing it away with a plastic weatherstrip tool until the two clips release.
- Pull the panel up until the four clips at the sides have released.




- Engage the handbrake and move the gear selector lever towards the rear.
- Rotate the panel to the left for better access.
- Remove the two screws holding the bracket with the radio and dashboard environment panel in the centre console.




- Remove the console with dashboard environment panel and radio from the centre console by pulling the lower edge out and downwards until it releases from the mounting at the upper edge. Then fold it backwards.

Note! Do not damage the removed components or the surrounding panels.If necessary, the panel around the gear lever selector can be removed for additional space. The panel is secured with four catches on the underside along the boot.

- Unplug the connectors from the radio and dashboard environment panel, and if applicable, from the phone keypad.
- Place the unit to one side.





Remove:
- the left-hand side panel (1) of the centre console by turning the screw clip and pulling the panel outwards/backwards.
- the sill trim panel (2) at the left-hand front door.




- Fold aside the carpet to provide access to the air ducts (1).




- Remove the seat cushion (1) by pulling up its front edge, pulling it forwards and then lifting it out.




- Remove the sill trim panel at the left rear door.




- Fold the left-hand rear backrest forward.
- Take the seat belt out from the guide (1).




- Remove the clip (1) at the side of the left-hand side bolster.
- Pull the top edge of the left-hand front cargo compartment panel out to access the upper catch for the side bolster.




- Remove the left-hand side bolster. First press in the catch (1) at the top of the reverse of the side bolster, and pull it out slightly.
- Grasp the bolster using both hands. Twist anticlockwise until the catch on the inside releases.
- Remove the side bolster. First pull out the top of the side bolster. Then pull upwards.





Preparations, cargo compartment, applies to all models
- Remove the cargo compartment carpet at the rear edge. First turn the two knobs (1) 90˚.




- Pull up the front of the cargo compartment carpet. Fold the front half back over the rear half of the cargo compartment carpet.




- Slide the entire cargo compartment carpet forward slightly. Twist slightly to remove the carpet through the tailgate opening.
- Remove the carpet from the luggage compartment.




- Press the centres of the clips at the lower edge of the foldable side panel on the left-hand side until a click is heard.
- Remove the two clips.
- Remove the plastic nut along the front/lower edge of the side panel.




- Turn the knob (1) on the left-hand side through 90°.
- Fold the side panel inwards. Lift the panel out and put it to one side. There is a new panel in the kit.




- Wash the area on the roof and by the boot lid where the antenna and antenna cable shall be located with a mixture of washer fluid and water.

Note! Thoroughly remove all dirt and grease.

- Wipe dry.




- Take the antenna from the kit
- Place the antenna to the back of the cleaned roof without removing the protective backing tape.
- The antenna must be located so that the end of the cable's rubber coated section exactly reaches the end of the roof.
- Measure 522 mm (20 35/64") from both sides of the roof to the antenna.




- Hold the antenna to the roof and mark out around it with tape so that the correct position for it is marked.




- Enlist help from a colleague to sit inside the car and press against the headlining under the location for the antenna.
- Remove the protective backing tape from underneath the antenna and locate it within the tape markings.

Hint: The antenna can be moved carefully if it is not pressed down straight away. The tape must not make contact with the roof as the antenna has a rubber edge around the underside.

- Hold against the roof from the inside while the antenna is pressed in straight down with a force of 2-3 kg (4-6 lbf.) for several seconds.





Antenna cable routing. Preparations
- Remove the left-hand rear window moulding by pulling it straight down so that it detaches from the roof moulding.
- Following which, carefully pull it from the clips. Try out different angles and pushing the moulding up or down.

Note! If the clips are in the correct position then not too much force will be required to detach them.

- Remove the clips from the moulding and from the D-post. They shall be replaced with new ones.




- Remove the plastic moulding which is fitted around the upper edge of the rear window by pushing it straight back from the edge of the window. Pull away the moulding completely or so that it at least half is detached from the window.
- Secure the antenna cables inside the plastic moulding using butyl tape. Secure the cables at regular intervals so that the antenna cables cannot edge forwards when the car is washed.
- Press back the moulding with the cables remaining inside the plastic moulding's cavity.




- Route the antenna cables on down along the edge of the rear window and secure them with butyl tape under the protruding edge of the window.
- Continue down to the hinge of the boot lid.




- Pull the cable out at the rubber grommet (1)
- Cut the plastic clamp (2) and remove it from the rubber grommet.




- Widen the rubber grommet using a screwdriver or expanding pliers and press through the antenna cables' connectors, one at a time.




- Pull the antenna cables in through the hole and into the cargo compartment.
- Reinstall the rubber grommet.
- Following which, tension the cables.
- Secure the cables as illustrated using cloth tape from the kit.

Hint: Securing the cables beside each other is facilitated with a little butyl tape and then by taping over them.




- Secure the antenna cables by the thick cable as illustrated.





Figure 30 applies to cars with bracket fitted.
- Remove the DVD drive with bracket from the body by detaching the three screws.
- Carefully pull the unit out slightly and position it in front of the battery.

Applies to cars with CD changer behind left-hand side panel.
- Detach the CD changer's screws.

- Detach the DIN cable and other connectors from the CD changer.

- Detach the bracket from the CD changer. Put the bracket to one side. It shall not be re-used.

Note! Follow the installation instructions enclosed with the bracket which facilitate the installation of the CD changer under the parcel shelf.





Applies to all models
Note! Figure 34 shows the bracket with RTI and Sirius control module.

Install the Sirius unit in the bracket and secure it with three screws from the kit.

Note! Only 8 mm (5/16") long screws may be used. If longer screws are used then the unit may be damaged.




- Reinstall the bracket with the Sirius control module in the car and screw in its screws.
- Torque tighten to 10 Nm (7.5 lbf.ft.).




- Take the cable (1) for power supply from the kit.
- Plug in the connector to the corresponding one on the Sirius unit.
- Connect the antenna cables (2) to the corresponding colour coded sockets on the Sirius unit.





Installation of the DIN cable. Applies to cars with RTI.
- Take the DIN cable (1) from the kit.
- Plug in the end with round pins in the connector to the corresponding socket on the Sirius unit.
- Connect the other end of the DIN cable to the corresponding socket in the DVD drive.





Installation of the DIN cable. Applies to cars without RTI.
- Take the pre-routed SAT preparation connection which is taped in the vicinity of the left-hand rear lamp.
- Connect the SAT preparation cable DIN connector to the corresponding socket (1) in the Sirius control module.

Installation of the DIN cable between CD changer and Sirius control module. Applies to cars with CD changer under the parcel shelf.
- Detach the DIN cable from the CD changer.
- Route the DIN cable down to the Sirius control module.
- Connect the DIN cable to the corresponding socket in the Sirius control module.
- Connect one end of the short DIN cable to the available DIN socket in the Sirius control module and the other end to the CD changer.

Note! Route the cable so that there is no risk of chafing or damage.





Connecting the power supply. Applies to all models
- Press in the catch on the rear brown connector in the cargo compartment fuse holder. Turn up the lock arm as far as possible and pull out the connector.




- Carefully prise apart the sides of the connector holder in the ends so that the connector can pass by the retaining hooks.
- Pull the connector out from the holder.




- Take the cable harness from the kit.
- Connect the blue/red (R/BL) cable with pin to position 27 in the connector.
- Reinstall the connector in the holder and reinstall the whole unit in the fuse holder.




- Fit a 5A fuse in position 17




- Connect the routed ground lead to the grounding point (1) behind the battery and tighten the grounding screw securely.





Installing the clips on the D-post
- Take new clips from the kit.
- Install the clips in the designated locations on the D-post as illustrated.
- Adjust the clips vertically by using the diagonal groove in the clips.
- Install the clips centrally located.





Installing the trim moulding.
- Insert the D-post moulding in the roof moulding.
- Align the moulding in the clips.
- Press the moulding into place in the clips. Use the palm of your hand to press the moulding into place. Press on the clip locations not between them.





Adjusting the trim moulding vertically.
- Adjust the trim moulding so that it fits firmly against the body.
- The trim moulding can be adjusted vertically by pushing the clips up or down using a weatherstrip tool.
- If the clips are pushed up the distance between the moulding and the rear window is reduced.
- If the clips are pushed down the distance between the moulding and the rear window is increased. Check that there is no gap.

Reinstall:
- the panels detached previously by repeating the steps for removal in reverse order.




- Turn the ignition key to position II.
- Reconnect the battery negative lead
- Reposition the carpet in the cargo compartment.
