Checking the Electrical Heating In the Power Door Mirrors



Trouble-Shooting Information

Condition

No diagnostic trouble codes are displayed.

Possible source

- Open circuit or short circuit to voltage supply on wire
- Defective rear-view electric mirror.

Fault symptom[s]

- Mist on windows and/or external rear-view mirrors.

Checking the electrical heating in the power door mirrors













Checking components and wiring. If the car is equipped with a 10-pin connector

Check the cable between door control module terminal #10B and power door mirror terminal #4. Check for an open-circuit.
Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

If the car is equipped with a 16-pin connector

Check the cable between door control module terminal #10B and power door mirror terminal #6. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

Remedy as necessary.

Try replacing the power door mirror if no fault was found.

- When the button is not depressed, the voltage between terminal #10B on the control module connector and ground must be 0 V.
