Upholstery back rest, replacing

Preparatory work

Removing components

Remove:
- the seat from the car. See Lifting the front seats in and out Removal and Replacement
- the lumbar support knob according to Lumbar support adjustment knob, replacing Lumbar Support Adjustment Knob, Replacing
- the side piece: Pull straight out
- the backrest adjustment knob. See Backrest adjustment knob Backrest Adjustment Knob.

Removal

Removing upholstery




Fold the backrest or position the backrest in the forward folded position.
Slacken off the tension in lumbar support.
Remove the five half moon clips at the bottom edge of the backrest.




Remove the upholstery to the first lateral channel, two half moon clips for each front-rear channel.
Remove the upholstery completely.
Remove a half moon clip from each side in the front-rear channel.
Remove three half moon clips in the first lateral channel and two half moon clips in the upper channel.




Release two elastic attachments in the inside / rear side of the backrest.




Remove the three half moon clips on the inside / reverse of the backrest.
Pull off the backrest upholstery.

Installation

Installing the edge trim




Install the two 170 mm edge trims (1) on the vertical panel edges.
Start at the top of the panel edge.

Installing upholstery

Install:
In reverse order.
Position and measure that the upholstery is correctly positioned before securing.
