Checking the Park lock, drive shaft
Fault-tracing information
Check that the drive shaft is engaged in the transmission. This determines whether the park lock in the transmission is not functioning.
If one of the drive shafts is out of position, this can result in the symptom "park lock not working".
Causes of interference can be:
- that one or both of the drive shafts is not in position, so that there is no engagement in the transmission.

With the car on a flat surface, shift the gear selector to position P. Release the brake. Can the car be rolled forwards or backwards? The drive shafts may be out of position if the car moves.
