Checking the SRS control module

Fault-tracing information
Before continuing with fault-tracing, the following must be checked:
- All tests for the relevant symptom must have been carried out.
- No component, connector or wiring faults etc. should have been detected.

Have all tests been carried out and no faults detected?

Yes - Erasing diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)

No - No Fault Found

- Ignition on.




- Erase diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) by clicking on the VCT 2000 symbol.
This will take at least 20 seconds.

Reading off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)








Note! Certain actions must be taken if the battery lead has been disconnected during fault-tracing, see Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting.

- Ignition on, wait 10 seconds.
- Read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) by clicking on the VCT 2000 symbol.
- Note any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) should be stored. The SRS indicator lamp must be off.

Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have probably been stored during repair work.
Check that all connectors and components have been correctly connected.

Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored earlier
Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have probably been stored during incorrectly performed repair work
Check that fault-tracing has been carried out correctly according to the relevant fault-tracing instructions.
It is possible to interrupt or make a new attempt to erase diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Is the SRS indicator lamp off?

No - Replacing the component

Replacing the component
- Try a new control module.

Caution! A new control module is delivered without software. The control module must be programmed in order to function after replacement. For further information about programming and replacing the control module, see.





Select "Continue" when the fault has been remedied.
