Removing The Battery Isolator
NOTE: The following applies only to cars with alarms: If the car needs to be locked when the battery isolator is installed, wait for 30 seconds before mechanically locking the car. The remote control cannot be used. If the car is locked too quickly, the siren is activated when the battery isolator disconnects the battery.
General information about handling battery isolators
The battery isolator must be returned, and reused several times.
CAUTION: The battery isolator is fragile. Handle carefully.
Removing the battery isolator
Remove:
- the panel in front of the rear electronic module
- the cable (yellow) for the battery isolator from the rear electronic module (1)
- the cable (red) for the battery isolator from the battery positive terminal (2).
Remove:
- the battery negative lead from the battery isolator (3)
- the battery isolator from the battery negative terminal (4)
- the cables from the battery isolator and discard them.
Connect the battery negative lead to the battery negative terminal (5). Tighten to 6 Nm ± 1.5 Nm.
Place the protective cover over the battery. Position the bracket over the cover. Secure the bracket using the three screws (6).
Reinstall the cargo compartment carpet (7).
Reinstall the panel in front of the rear electronic module (8).
