Replacing the transformer
Removal
Preparations
Note! As the illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and / or models, some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.
Disconnect the battery lead. See Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting.
Remove:
- the two seat cushions by pulling them straight up
- disconnect the connector
- the coolbox. See Replacing the cool box Replacing the Cool Box.
Remove the two screws for the bracket at the seat belt buckles.
Remove:
- the panel around the gear selector lever
- the screw in the mounting for the front center tunnel console.
Separate the center consoles by lifting both the consoles and pulling the rear console backwards.
Lift up the arm rest / cover.
Remove:
- the fax (certain models only). See Replacing the fax and DVD
- the 4 screws
- the cover plate
- the car-phone module. Pull the module straight up and place it to one side.
Removing the transformer
Remove:
- the upper and lower connector at the rear edge of the center console locker
- the upper connector from the clip mounting.
Remove the transformer. Pull the transformer straight up.
Note! Ensure that the cable harnesses do not catch on anything.
Installation
Installing the transformer
Press the transformer onto the Velcro mounting strip
Install:
- the connector in the clip mounting
- the 2 connectors.
Press the car-phone module onto the Velcro mounting strip
Install:
- the cover plate
- the 4 screws
- the fax (certain models only). See Replacing the fax and DVD .
Align the center console
Hint: check that the front center console is in position in the front mounting.
Install:
- the screw in the mounting for the front center console
- the panel around the gear selector lever
- the screw in the mounting for the rear center console mounting by the seat belt buckle
- the coolbox. See Replacing the cool box Replacing the Cool Box
- the two seat cushions
- the battery lead. See Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting.
