Information and verification, locking/unlocking

Symptom and function description
For locking and unlocking to be possible, the following conditions must be met:
- The battery in the remote key control must have sufficient voltage. If the battery starts to deteriorate, the transmission strength is reduced.
- The remote control must be within the normal distance from the vehicle's remote receiver.
- The key belonging to the vehicle must not be in the ignition when locking.

Note! Communication between the remote control and the remote receiver can, in exceptional cases, be interrupted due to increased surrounding radiation, e.g. from TV and radio transmitters, mobile telephones or electrical metering devices that are remotely read.

Verification
Check the central locking system by standing outside of the vehicle. Try to lock and unlock the vehicle with the remote control, all doors should lock and unlock.
Also check that the boot lid locks and unlocks.
Check using all the vehicle's remote controls.
Pre-check:
- That the text REMOTE CONTROL REPLACE BATTERY was not visible on the Driver information module (DIM) display.
If the function fails, when one of the remote keys is used, the fault probably lies with the individual remote key.
