Front wheel hub, measuring lateral runout
Special tools:

Preparations
Take out measurement tool set 999 5418 Measuring kit 999 5418 Measuring Kit.
Remove:
- the wheel
- the mounting screws for the brake caliper holder. Hang the brake caliper from the spring using a wire.
Remove the brake disc
Install the bracket included in the test equipment

Install the dial gauge
Install the dial gauge in the bracket as illustrated.
Measure the lateral run out
Put the test gauge point against the hub flange as illustrated.
Rotate the hub gently. Use a socket to help.
Note the test gauge run-out. Hub maximum lateral runout: 0.020 mm.
If lateral run-out exceeds the value, replace the hub.

Finishing work
Remove the test equipment
Install:
- the brake disc. Tighten the locating pin. Tighten to 8 Nm
- the brake caliper and the caliper holder. Tighten to 100 Nm.
Note! Use new mounting screws.
