Checking wiring and components
Check that the "Rear windshield defroster" relay 2/82 is correctly installed.
Check the rear electronic module connector and relay terminal 2/82 for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults and for loose connections according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Check the cable between main fuse 11E/5 and "Rear windshield defroster" relay 2/82 terminal 5. Check the cable between main fuse 11D/5 and "Rear windshield defroster" relay 2/82 terminal 1. Check the cable between rear electronic module terminal D1 (#B01) and "Rear windshield defroster" relay 2/82 terminal 2 for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults and an intermittent open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals.
