Alarm, basic kit

Note! This system is connected to the car's electrical system. It requires software unique to the car.

Illustration A applies to the S80





Carry out the following on the left and right-hand sides of the car
- Remove the headlamp wiper arm (1). Disconnect the washer hose
- Remove the plastic protector (2) using a weatherstrip tool. Start at the centre of the protector
- Disconnect the turn signal lamp cable. Remove the protector.

Carry out the following on the left and right-hand sides of the car
- Disconnect the headlamp washer hose at the joint (1)
- Remove the headlamp wiper arm by removing the nut (2) under the cover and pulling it off.

Carry out the following on the left and right-hand sides of the car
- Remove the trim strip on the bumper by prying it off at one end using a weatherstrip tool. Then carefully pull the trim strip off.

- Remove the number plate by prying out the bottom of the moulding and removing it
- Remove the two screws (1) on the number plate holder. Remove the number plate holder
- Remove the centre trim strip on the bumper by prying it off at one end using a weatherstrip tool, and then carefully pulling it off.

Carry out the following on the left and right-hand sides of the car
- Carefully drill out 4 of the 5 blind rivets (1) from the wing liner at the front edge of the wheel arch
- Push in the centre of the clips (2). Remove the clips
- Remove the screws (3) and (4) from the bumper
- Pull out the front slightly. Disconnect the connector on the left-hand side
- Lift off the front.

Carry out the following on the left and right-hand sides of the car
- Drill out the four blind rivets (1) which hold the inner wing liner at the bumper
- Unscrew the screw (2). Press forward.

- Push in the centre of the clips (1). Remove the clips.

- Remove the two screws (1) holding the bumper
- Remove the bumper by pulling it forward to free it from the guides on the left and right-hand sides. If the car is equipped with fog lamps: Disconnect the connectors.

Carry out the following on the left-hand side of the car
- Remove the bumper mounting bracket. First remove the three screws (1).





Carry out the following on the right-hand side of the car
- Raise the car
- Turn the wheels to the left
- Carefully drill out the remaining blind rivet from the wing liner at the front edge of the wheel arch
- Remove the nuts (1) from the wing liner. Fold down the wing liner (2).





Carry out the following on the right-hand side of the car
- Disconnect the existing connector (1) from the clip
- Install the siren in the front (2) and rear (3) guide hole
- Install the screw (4) in the siren mounting
- Connect the existing connector (1) to the siren connector (5).

Carry out the following on the left-hand side of the car
- Disconnect the connectors (1) for the headlamp
- Remove the headlamp screws (2). Pull out the headlamp
- Disconnect the turn signal lamp and the headlamp wiper connectors
- Remove the headlamp.

Carry out the following on the left-hand side of the car
- Remove the four screws (1) holding the headlamp to the body
- Pull out the headlamp slightly. Disconnect the connectors
- Remove the headlamp.

Applies to the V70 (00-) and S60 with Automatic Climate Control, Electronic Climate Control





Carry out the following on the left and right-hand sides of the car
- Remove the six screws (1) for the front cover plate.

Applies to the V70 (00-) and S60 with Automatic Climate Control, Electronic Climate Control




- Pull up the outer edges of the front cover plate to free it from its mounting (1)
- Lift up the front cover plate on the left side. Position a shim between the front cover plate and the headlamp mounting.

Only applies to left-hand drive cars




- Remove the cover (1) and the screw from the bonnet catch control
- Pull out the carpet from the front edge of sill trim panel
- Disconnect the cable from the control.




- Mark out the position of the screw heads on the bonnet catch bracket (1)
- Remove the bonnet catch screws (2)
- Disconnect the wire from the left bonnet catch (3). Remove the bonnet catch.




- Install the cable on the new bonnet catch (from the kit)
- Install the bonnet catch. Secure the bonnet catch with the two screws.

Note! Marked positions for the screw heads.

- Connect the bonnet catch connector to the existing connector beside the bonnet catch.

Only applies to left-hand drive cars
- Reinstall the cable to the bonnet opener control
- Tighten the control using the screw. Reinstall the cover
- Reinstall the carpet.

Applies to all cars
- Check the function of the bonnet catches.

Applies to the S80
- Reinstall the left headlamp
- Reinstall the right wing liner
- Reinstall the bumper
- Reinstall the plastic protectors under both headlamps
- Reinstall the headlamp wiper arms and the headlamp washer hoses for both headlamps
- Secure the wing liner using blind rivets on both sides. See operation 2 and 3.
- Check the headlamp beam alignment.

Applies to the V70 (00-) and S60 with Automatic Climate Control, Electronic Climate Control
- Reinstall the front cover plate.

Applies to the V70 (00-) and the S60
- Reinstall the left headlamp
- Reinstall the bumper and the mounting brackets
- Install the three trim strips
- Reinstall the headlamp wiper arms and the headlamp washer hoses for both headlamps (if applicable)
- Secure the wing liner using rivets. Install and tighten the screws on both sides
- Check the headlamp beam alignment.




- Remove the cover (1) on the left-hand side of dashboard
- Install a 5 A fuse:
in terminal 29 for cars up to and including model year -00.
in terminal 38 for cars from model year 01-04 inclusive.
Cars from model year 05 have this fuse fitted.
- Program the software. See the service information in VADIS/VIDA.
- Check the function of the alarm.




- Install the decals on the front side windows.

Applies to Sweden and Norway
- Apply the type decal to the inside of the glove compartment
- Apply decals SSF (S) / FG (N) to the front side windows.
