Fault-tracing information
Fault causes which will prevent the radio mute function working:
- Fault or loose connections in the cable between the telephone and the hands-free box
- Fault in the connection between the hands-free box and the accessory electronic module (AEM).

Checking the components and wiring

Hint: Check that no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been stored in the accessory electronic module (AEM) or in the MOST network before carrying out this fault-tracing.




- Ignition off
- Disconnect the connectors for the hands-free box and accessory electronic module (AEM).
Check that the telephone connections on the phone and in the holder are clean. Check that the connector guards are in not place.
Check the connectors. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check the female and male sections of the connectors. The terminals must not be damaged or pressed in.
Check the cable between the phone and hands-free box. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the cable between the hands-free box and the accessory electronic module (AEM). Check for an open-circuit.
