Reading the user information
- Ignition on.
If the audio unit is equipped with a CD player: insert a CD and select CD with the "SOURCE" knob.
If the audio unit is equipped with an MD player: insert an MD and select MD with the "SOURCE" knob.
Click on the VCT 2000 symbol to read the user information.
Is any user information stored?
Yes - Checking the CD/MD player
No - No Fault Found

- Ignition on.
Hint: Check that the volume is not turned down. Check other sound sources, for example whether the radio is working.
Check that there is no condensation on the disc.
Check that the disc is inserted correctly.
Test with a new disc.
Check that there is nothing in front of the opening to the CD/MD player.
Check that there is nothing in the CD/MD compartment.
If the CD/MD player is not working replace the CD/MD player.
Do the necessary corrective action.

- Ignition off.
- Connect connector, install components etc.
- Ignition on.
Check that the MD/CD player is working.
Read the user information again and check that the status has changed.

Since the error has not been detected and rectified, the error may be caused by a defective main unit/audio control unit (AUM). Continue by checking the main unit/audio control unit or try again.

Before continuing fault-tracing the following must be checked:
- All tests for the relevant symptom must have been carried out.
- No component, connector or wiring faults should have been detected.

Try a new head unit/audio module.
Caution! New head unit/audio control modules are supplied without software. The head unit/audio control module must be programmed after it has been replaced.
