Installing lifting tools




- Install lifting beam 999 5716 Reading off tool 999 5716 Reading Off Tool. Install lifting hooks 999 5460 Lifting hook 999 5460 Lifting Hook
- Lift the engine to relieve the load on the engine pads.

Removing the charge air pipe and hose (6-cylinder turbocharged engines only)




Slacken off the 5 hose clamps for all the charge air pipes.
Remove the 2 screws from the charge air pipe on the intake manifold.
Separate all the charge air pipe. Leave the pipes lying on the spark plug cover.

Removing the spark plug cover





Remove:
- the screws for the spark plug cover
- the cover
- the ground strip screw.

Applies only to turbocharged engines:
Remove the screws.
Lift up the delivery lines. Remove the spark plug cover.

Installing the lifting lug




Remove the 2 screws at the engine mounting.
Install lifting lug999 5717 Lifting eye 999 5717 Lifting Eye.

Removing lifting tools

Remove the lifting lug and the lifting hook from the engine and the car




Remove the lifting lug from the engine. Install the screws. Tighten to 50 Nm.
Reinstall the spark plug cover. Tighten the screw. Tighten to 10 Nm.
Install the ground strip. Tighten to 10 Nm.
Lift up the delivery lines. Install the spark plug cover (applies only to turbocharged cars).

Installing the charge air pipe (only applies to 6 cylinder turbocharged engines)




Connect all the charge air pipes to each other.
Tighten the hose clamps.
Install the screws for the charge air pipe in the intake manifold. Tighten to 10 Nm.
