Lock mechanism rear side door, replacing

Removing the lock mechanism for the rear side door




The window must be closed.

Remove:
- the door panel. See Panel, rear side door, replacing Service and Repair (-2003) or Panel rear side door, replacing Service and Repair (2004-)
- the run-off profile. See Drip guard Drip Guard
- the screw holding the guide rail.
Push the guide rail out of the way.
Remove the 3 screws for the lock mechanism.





Remove:
- the link between the lock mechanism and the outer handle (2)
- the link for the lock button (3).
Angle out the lock mechanism.
Remove the cable harness.
Unhook the end of the cable.

Installing the lock mechanism for the rear side door

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications [1][2]Body and Frame.

Angle in the lock mechanism.

Install:
- the 3 M6 screws. Tighten
- the link between the lock mechanism and the outer handle
- the link for the lock button.
Work the guide rail back into place.
Install the screw for the guide rail. Tighten.

Install:
- the connector
- the end of the cable
- the run-off profile. See Drip guard Drip Guard
- the door panel. See Panel, rear side door, replacing Service and Repair (-2003) or Panel rear side door, replacing Service and Repair (2004-).
