Power door mirror with ground lighting
Note! This accessory requires software unique to the car.
Preparations
- Turn the ignition key to position 0
- Remove the key from the ignition switch (does not apply to cars with automatic gearboxes)
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.
Note! Wait at least five minutes before disassembling the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.
Removing the door mirror
Carry out the following procedures Power door mirror with ground lighting Power Door Mirror With Ground Lighting - Power door mirror with ground lighting Power Door Mirror With Ground Lighting on both the left and right-hand sides.
- Bend the door mirror backwards towards the side window
- Remove the painted cover (1). First carefully pry up the inner edge (2). Bend the top edge outwards. Then pull the cover upwards. Use a weatherstrip tool.

Remove:
- the cover (1) for the door mirror. First pull the cover straight out
- the clips (2). First press in the centre of the clips until a click is heard
- the cover (3) for the door handle. Use a weatherstrip tool
- the two screws (4) from under the cover
- the door panel. First slide the panel upwards and unhook the top edge
- the mechanical lock cable and existing connectors. Place the door panel to one side.
Illustration B applies to the S80
Remove:
- the clips (1). First press in the centre of the clips until a click is heard
- the blind cover plug (2) and the screw from under the washer
- the surround (3) around the handle carefully. Use a weatherstrip tool
- the cover for the door mirror (4). First pull the cover straight out
- the door panel (5). First unhook the panel. Then lift the door panel out
- the mechanical lock cable and existing connectors. Place the door panel to one side.
- Disconnect the connector (1)
- Remove the nut (2) and the door mirror.
Applies to all markets except the Nordic countries
Transferring the mirror glass, removal
- Grasp the outer edge of the door mirror. Insert a screwdriver between the reverse of the mirror glass and the mounting (1)
- Remove the existing mirror glass. Carefully pull the glass outwards and at the same time pry the glass from the mounting
- Remove the wiring from the mirror glass.
Installing the door mirror
Applies to all markets except the Nordic countries
Transferring the mirror glass, installation
- Connect the red (R) and the black (SB) cable for the new mirror glass
- Install the new mirror glass in the bracket. First align the glass in the inner mounting (1). Press the glass towards the outer mounting (2)
- Check that the mirror glass is secured.
- Install the new door mirror. Connect the connector, see point Power door mirror with ground lighting Power Door Mirror With Ground Lighting.
- Reinstall the door panel, according to point Power door mirror with ground lighting Power Door Mirror With Ground Lighting.
- Install the cover on the new door mirror. First install the hooks in the lower edge. Then secure the top edge of the cover
- Fold the door mirror back into the normal position.
Installing the switch in the panel
Applies to the S60 and V70 (00-)
- Remove the panel in front of the gear selector lever. Carefully pry off the panel using a plastic weatherstrip tool
- Move the gear selector lever as far back as possible.

- Press in the catches on the front edge of the gear selector lever panel. Lift the panel upwards, first the front edge and then the rear edge. Remove the panel around the gear selector lever.

- Carefully remove the panel (1) with the boot. Pry carefully using a weatherstrip tool.

- Remove the two screws from the dashboard environment panel.

- Move the gear selector lever as far back as possible
- Pull the panel (1) with the boot as far backwards as possible. Turn the panel as illustrated
- Remove the screws (2) from the dashboard environment panel (3).
- Carefully angle the dashboard environment panel out using a plastic weatherstrip tool so that it is possible to insert a couple of fingers to gain access to the side of the dashboard environmental panel
- Remove the dashboard environment panel. Pull it downward, maintaining the same angle
- Disconnect the connectors on the reverse of the dashboard environment panel
Note! If any of the outer hooks break off, these must be repaired. See the section dealing with the dashboard in VIDA.
- Remove the cigarette lighter
- Position the dashboard environmental panel as illustrated
- Detach the surround (1) by carefully pushing down the three catches (2) in the holes (3) using a small screwdriver. At the same time pry out the surround using a thin weatherstrip tool. Starting at the 12 volt socket (4), pry up one corner. The surround is tightly secured so take care not to damage any components
- Remove the surround.
- See the driver's manual for the position of the switch
- Remove the switch blank. Install the new switch (1)
- Reinstall the surround and the cigarette lighter
- Connect the connectors to the dashboard environment panel. Reinstall the dashboard environment panel, see procedure Power door mirror with ground lighting Power Door Mirror With Ground Lighting - Power door mirror with ground lighting Power Door Mirror With Ground Lighting
- Reinstall the panel around the gear selector lever and the panel in front of the gear selector lever.
Finishing work
- Turn the ignition key to position II
- Reconnect the battery negative lead
- Program the software according to the service information in VIDA.
