Cleaning upholstery

General
The vehicle's upholstery, like the rest of the components, care in the form of regular maintenance. Cleaning and impregnation must be repeated at regular intervals, one to four times a year (more often if needed), so that the upholstery retains its clean look. This is just as important for textile and leather upholsteries of all colors.

Treatment
Volvo Cars has developed environment-adapted systems for cleaning and impregnating upholsteries included in the range and are available for all Volvo Cars workshops. Perform cleaning and impregnation according to instructions supplied with the product for textile and leather care.

Keep in mind:
- The upholstery must be vacuum-cleaned thoroughly before starting treatment to prevent including impurities, e.g., small stones, during cleaning.
- The upholstery must be allowed to dry between cleaning and impregnating according to the supplied instructions.
- The upholstery must be allowed to dry after impregnating.

Customer contact
Refer to care and service in the owner's manual as well as to the folder supplied in vehicles featuring leather upholstery from and incl. model year 2008.
After some time in use the leather's natural appearance will be more or less evident, depending on the leather's surface structure. This is natural aging of the leather and shows that it is a natural product.

Point out especially:
- The upholstery requires regular maintenance to retrain its qualities, one to four times a year (more often if needed).
- Sharp objects and Velcro straps may damage the vehicle's upholstery.
- Materials that colour, e.g., jeans and suede, etc., may discolor the vehicle's upholstery.
- Never use powerful solvents. These may damage both textile, vinyl, and leather upholstery.
