Cruise Control: Testing and Inspection






Information and verification, cruise control

Symptom and function description
The following conditions must be met before the engine control module (ECM) will allow cruise control to be permitted.
- Speed above 35 km/h. Max 200 km/h.
- Cruise control switch on.
- The clutch and brake pedal must not be depressed.

Verification
To verify that the symptom is in the vehicle, test drive the vehicle and check that cruise control works properly.
When test driving, check:
- "CRUISE" appears in the display on the combined instrument panel when the cruise control switch is on.
- That the speed locks when + or - are used.
- Disengagement occurs correctly.
Temporary disengagement if:
- Depress the 0 button on the steering wheel.
- Depress the brake or clutch pedal.
- The speed decreases below 35 km/h.
- Gear selector in N.
- Wheel spin or wheel lock-up.
In the event of temporary disengagement, "CRUISE" still appears in the combined instrument display.
To disengage cruise control, press "CRUISE". "CRUISE" then goes out in the display on the combined instrument panel.
