Checking the front position lamps

Checking the wiring and the relay
Check the signal cables to the parking lamps. Check for an open-circuit. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the relay (2/61).

Hint: The voltage over the relay must be 12 V on pins #1 and #3 when the parking lamp is switched on.

Check the cable between terminal #3 and fuse 2, main fuses in the engine compartment (11A/2).
Also check the main fuse.
Check the connector between (54/3R).
Check the cable between the relay #1 (2/61) and passenger compartment fuses for the left respectively right parking lamps. (Fuse 11C/30 for the left side and 11C/31 for the right side).

Note! In certain markets the parking lamps are mounted in the head lamps. In other markets side marker lamps are installed.

Without sidemarker lamps
Check the cable between the passenger compartment fuse and the headlamp housing terminal #2 for the relevant lamp circuit.
For the left parking lamp, check lamp 10/11
For the right parking lamp, check lamp 10/12.
Check the ground supply between the headlamps terminal #1 and the ground terminal.
Also check the connectors between (54/3L and 54/5).

With sidemarker lamps
Check the cable between the passenger compartment fuse and the sidemarker lamp housing terminal #1 for the relevant lamp circuit.
For the left parking lamp, check sidemarker lamp 10/71.
For the right parking lamp, check sidemarker lamp 10/73.
Check the ground supply between the side marker lamps terminal #2 and the ground terminal.
Also check the connectors between (54/3L and 54/5).
Remedy as necessary.
