Front wheel hub steel

Special tools:
951 2050 BEVEL PROTRACTOR 951 2050 Bevel Protractor

Removal

Removing brake calipers





Remove:
- the wheel
- the brake caliper and limiter screws.
Hang the caliper up using a piece of wire.





Remove:
- the drive shaft screw. Use a screwdriver as a counterhold on the brake disc
- the locating pin holding the brake disc
- the brake disc.

Remove the end of the drive shaft




Slacken off the end of the drive shaft in the hub by knocking the drive shaft into the hub approximately10-15 mm. Use a rubber or copper mallet.

Press the end of the drive shaft into the hub10-20 mm.
Remove the 4 screws for the hub.

Installation

Installing the hub




- Install the hub. Use new screws
- Press in the end of the drive shaft10-20 mm
- Use sleeve 3/8 mounting
- Tighten the screws for the hub alternately. First tighten to 20 Nm. Then tighten to 65 Nm
- Then angle-tighten to 60°.

Installing the brake disc




Install the brake disc.
Tighten the brake disc locating pin. Tighten to 8 Nm.

Note! Ensure that the brake disc and wheel rim hub mating surfaces are clean.

Tighten the new drive shaft screw. See Tightening torque Tightening Torque.

Installing brake calipers




- Install the brake caliper and the limiter
- Use new screws
- Tighten to 100 Nm
- Install the wheel. See Installing wheels Service and Repair.
