Checking the relevant diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for the starter motor symptom does not run
Check if any of the following diagnostic trouble codes have been generated in the vehicle. These should be remedied first.
- Diagnostic trouble codes in the central electronic module (CEM) for the antenna ring and transponder. Diagnostic trouble codes for the antenna ring and transponder are related to the vehicle immobilizer.
- Diagnostic trouble codes in Central Electronic Module (CEM) with regards to S-voltage feed.
- Diagnostic trouble codes in central electronic module (CEM) with regards to relay Ext X2-power supply. Applies only to automatic transmissions.
- Diagnostic trouble codes in Central Electronic Module (CEM) with regards to communication with Transmission Control Module (TCM). Applies only to automatic transmissions.
- Diagnostic trouble codes in Transmission Control Module (TCM) with regards to gear position sensor. Applies only to automatic transmissions.
Secondly, symptom tests shall be performed for the symptom: Starter motor does not operate
Other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the control modules are not relevant for this symptom.
