Control arm lower, replacing

Removal

Preparatory work (applies only to cars with Bi-Xenon lamps)
Remove the position sensor for the Bi-Xenon lamps. See Replacing position sensors for Bi-Xenon lamps Service and Repair.

Removing the lower control arm





Remove
- the spring and the shock absorber. See Spring rear, replacing Spring Rear, Replacing
- the screw on the lateral link against the wheel spindle. Bend the lateral link downwards
- the screws in the wheel spindle and sub-frame for the lower control arm
- the control arm.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications Tightening Torque.

Installing the lower control arm




Install the control arm, without spring and shock absorber, at both ends with the relevant screws. Finger tighten.
Press the control arm to the normal position using a mobile jack.
Tighten the 2 M12 screws for the wheel spindle and sub-frame for the lower control arm. Keep the wheel spindle in the normal position.
Install the lateral link to the wheel spindle. Lower the wheel spindle. Remove the mobile jack.

Normal position




The normal position of the rear suspension is the distance from the fender edge to the center of the wheel.

Installing the shock absorber and spring
Install the spring and shock absorber. See Spring rear, replacing Spring Rear, Replacing.

Finishing work (applies only to cars with Bi-Xenon lamps)
Install the position sensor for the Bi-Xenon lamps. See Replacing position sensors for Bi-Xenon lamps Service and Repair.

Note! If the vehicle is equipped with Bi-Xenon lamps, the position sensor must be calibrated.
